Since Aiyaary is hitting the screens tomorrow, Padmaavat will face a screen crunch at the box office and will have limited scope to perform. The magnum opus which is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali also features Aditi Rao Hydari, Jim Sarbh, Raza Murad and Anupriya Goenka in pivotal roles. It is produced under the banners of Sanjay Leela Bhansali productions and Viacom 18. With the whopping budget of Rs 180 crore including promotion and advertising, Padmaavat is one of the costliest Bollywood films. The makers also spent Rs 20 crore later to convert the film’s print into 3D and IMAX format. Apart from the domestic market, Padmaavat has done tremendous business internationally especially in the markets of UAE, Australia, North America, USA and Canada. The film marks the third collaboration between director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and actors Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone after Goliyon Ki Rasleela… and Bajirao Mastani. The trio has managed to keep the 100 per cent success record with Padmaavat. Padmaavat has also turned to be the individual highest grossers of its lead actors. Looking at the current trend, we are expecting the film to achieve the Rs 275 crore mark. But do you think it will enter the Rs 300 crore club? Share your thoughts in the comment below…
